Role: Litigator

Location: Fully Remote

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a qualified and self-driven Litigator to join our team. This fully remote position offers a unique opportunity for independence and flexibility in your legal practice. In this role you will specialize in cases involving Powers of Attorney, Guardianship, and Passing of Accounts, with a particular focus on consent and capacity. You can also take on health law files such as secure treatment applications, Consent and Capacity Board hearings, and Health Services Appeal and Review Board hearings, at your discretion.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete autonomy over your legal practice. Run files on your own from start to finish.
  • Must have ability to independently manage and handle case files.
  • Opportunity to draft Wills and/or Powers of Attorney, if skilled in estate planning.
  • Opportunity to accept novel health law litigation cases, if desired.
  • Opportunity to provide advice to attorneys acting under POAs, if desired.

Compensation:

  • Percentage split.
  • A bonus for files acquired through your personal marketing efforts.

Contract Details:

  • A detailed agreement outlining all terms and conditions will be signed.
  • Must be in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Proof of professional insurance required.
